EIG Landman Chrome Extension Privacy Disclosure
This page is the privacy disclosure for the EIG Landman Chrome extension (Land Grabber 4 Bridge). It supplements the EIG Landman Privacy Policy.
1. Single purpose
The extension connects the user's Chrome browser to the EIG Landman desktop app on this computer over a local WebSocket (127.0.0.1). At the user's direction, Landman can read and act on the page the user is working so property, tax, title, court, probate, and related records can be saved into that user's Landman workspace.
2. What it does
When Landman is running and the user has enabled the extension, the extension may: read the active tab (title, URL, visible content, forms); navigate, click, and type at the user's request; capture a screenshot of a tab the user asked for; and send extracted records, URL, and timestamp to the Landman app on the same machine.
It does not sell data, serve ads, or send browsing data to advertisers or data brokers. It does not load remotely hosted code. Communication with the Landman app is local. Data that Landman then stores in the hosted engine is governed by the Privacy Policy.
3. Permissions
Chrome will show the permission list at install. We request access needed to drive public-records sites the user opens (tabs, scripting, host access). Storage keeps local preferences. Optional side panel shows results beside the page.
4. Data handling
Collected: page content of records the user requests; URL and timestamp; Landman account identifier on the engine; error diagnostics without full page dumps. Used only to populate the user's workspace. Shared only with EIG application servers and sub-processors listed in the Landman DPA, solely to provide the service. Not used for advertising, sale, credit, eligibility, or training models offered to others. Extracted records stay in the customer's workspace until deleted. Local session data is cleared on sign-out.
5. Limited Use
EIG limits use of user data to providing or improving this single purpose; does not transfer it except as needed to provide that purpose, to comply with law, or in a merger with notice; does not use it for ads; does not allow humans to read it except with user consent for a specific record, for security, to comply with law, or when aggregated and anonymized; and collects only what is needed for that purpose.
6. Consent and uninstall
Using the extension with Landman is consent to this disclosure. Uninstall the extension to withdraw. Data already in the workspace follows the Privacy Policy.
